BALOO (for Cub Scouts)
*** Must complete the online prerequisites at prior to arrival ***
BALOO is required for Packs and Webelos dens to conduct campouts.

IOLS (for Scouts BSA)
 IOLS gives adult leaders the practical knowledge they need to help Scouts learn the skills in the
Scouts BSA handbook and rank advancement requirements for Tenderfoot through First Class.
IOLS is required for Scoutmasters, Assistant Scoutmasters, and Venture Crew Advisors

Position specific training
The following in person position trainings will be offered:
Cub Scout track – Cubmaster/Den Leader
Scouts BSA track – Scoutmaster/Assistant Scoutmaster

Course Director: David Stone, or 859.779.5773

You may register for EITHER BALOO or IOLS (but not both) as each course is separate and runs simultaneously.
Attendance is required for the duration of each individual course.

Cub Scout track

  • Cubmaster/Den Leader training begins Friday promptly at 6:30 pm and runs until 10 pm
    (5:30 pm check-in)

  • BALOO runs Saturday 9 am – Sunday 12 pm
    (8 am check-in)


Scouts BSA track

  • IOLS runs Friday 6:30 pm – Saturday 10 pm
    (5:30 pm check-in)

  • Scoutmaster/Assistant Scoutmaster training begins Sunday promptly at 8 am and runs until  12 pm (7:30 am check-in)

(an overnight camping experience is part of both BALOO & IOLS)

A minimum of 15 participants must be registered by September 1, 2020 to hold each outdoor course.  Individual courses are subject to cancellation if the minimum is not met by September 1, 2020.
