Originally presented by Lord Baden-Powell in 1919, Wood Badge is advanced training in group leadership skills for volunteers involved in all levels of Boy Scouting.
Wood Badge consists of two parts. The first part is a two-weekend experience, living with a group of Scouters in an outdoor environment. During this time, participants are trained in leadership skills in order to better serve those units with which they are involved. Through this living/working experience, each person develops knowledge and understanding of these skills. This team-development model is in widespread use in corporate leadership training and will be an invaluable tool in all aspects of your Scouting, business, and personal life.
